THE BEL CANTO CHILDREN’S CHORUS HELPS RAISE FUNDS FOR VICTIMS OF ALLENTOWN BLAST
Solo Performance at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Allentown Brings in Donations
The Bel Canto Children’s Chorus was a guest of the "Art at St. John's" concert series performing a solo concert on Sunday, February 13, 2011. When the chorus and St. John's heard of the tragic blast in Allentown, they both wanted to do something to help. Through the generous donations of the audience, The Bel Canto Children’s Chorus and St. John’s Lutheran Church raised $855.00 for The American Red Cross to aid those displaced in the Allentown explosion.
Drawing choristers from the five counties in southeastern Pennsylvania and noted for performing diversified choral repertoire, The Bel Canto Children’s Chorus sang a program featuring sacred and secular music. The chorus was grateful for the opportunity to assist and offer support to the Allentown community.
The Arts at St. John’s is an annual series of concerts and music offerings presented for the artistic enjoyment by St. John’s congregation, community, and surrounding neighborhood.
